The not-so-amazing spiderman

I just didn't like the movie, and its not because the fact that Spiderman is probably my least favourite Marvel superhero (or maybe that Captain America), no... I didn't hate it either, but it was just... so-so... You know what I mean.

When I heard that they will reboot the series my first impression was: "It's way too soon, to be succescful" Especially because Tobey Maguire as spiderman was way too good. (well at least in the first episode) But they had no choice if they want Spiderman in their Avengers assemble anytime soon.  Then when they revealed that Andrew Garfield will play the main role, I had quite mixed feelings. In one hand: "Oh, I liked him in The Social Network and he is good-looking too", and... that's my problem, with that cutie pie face of his, I just can't imagine him being an underdog. Well... he managed it somehow, but we can't deny the fact that Peter Parker came out a little OOC, compared to the original one.

Anyway let's talk about our heroine: you can judge me if you want, but I liked this one better. Well actually I don't think that Emma Stone is better that Kirsten Dunst, more like the character was much more... real. Mary Jane was just a perfect girl without any personality Gwen Stacy in other hand has some gutts. OK, she's got two first name too, but that's a requirement if you want to be Spiderman's gal.

What I don't like in spiderman is his enemies... he always gets the freakiest ones... And by freakiest I mean literally. They are always somehow mutant and basically not that evil, but turned out of their human personality. Seriously why is Spiderman is the only one who can manage to keep his mental health even after he is turning to be a freak... or the question is how is he not going insane? I mean I would definitely freak out if I'd realise that I'm turning into something- something non-humanish thing.

But whatever It was watchable, at least once or twice. So for me it's a 6 out of 10.

Bye and beware of mutant spiders!

The long-awaited Hunger Games

So, yesterday I went to the cinema and watched The Hunger Games. Well.... I'm not sayin' that it was bad.... just this camera movements... really? They really had to hire Michael J. Fox as cameraman? My apologise this was a really bad joke (actually I respect and love Michael, sorry). But anyway I've got literally seasick in the first ten minutes and had a terribly headache during the whole 144 minutes.

Now about the story, I liked it. Well, I've already read the trilogy and it was so good, that I became a big fan, so it didn't surprise me at all! The script pretty much followed the book, expect some extra scenes, which -I have to admit- were great. The one with Seneca Crane at the end (those who have seen the movie now what I'm talking about) was brilliant.

And finally lets talk about the actors and actresses. First of all: Josh Hutcherson. Well I have to admit that I fell in love with Peeta during the books, so it wasn't too hard to make me like the character in the movie, and Josh was good, maybe he will be an actor afterall.

When I first heard that Jennifer Lawrence will play our heroine, Katniss I had some doubts. I don't say she isn't talented, it's the opposite - I just couldn't imagine her as a starving teenager. I haven't seen her in any other film than X-Men: Firts class and I loved her, but she wasn't that... thin, you know... Don't get me wrong she wasn't fat she was just curvy - like me. But I was relieved when I saw the first trailer, and now I have to say she didn't make me disappointed.

About the supporting roles. Of course I should mention Lenny Kravitz, well I'm not a big fan of him, but he wasn't bad, he wasn't that good either, but as my Brother said he's got one of the most loveable character that's why I can't say a bad word about him.
There were a lot of articles about the tributes. Well... I happened to like a lot the finale with Cato but it wasn't the actor's merit (he was pretty average) but he's got some cool lines, which were an extra, the book doesn't contain them by the way.

So overall, It was a 7/1o (it would be 8 whitout the bad camera)

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Since this is my first log my upcoming question is clearly poethical, but Did I mention that I happen to love shitty adventure movies?

The name, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson speaks for itself and promise that this will be shit.
I was looking through the premier's photo album wondering who wants to really see this and have their name attached forever to this masterpiece on imdb. Well, the answer is -Despite the fact that Donald Sutherland seems to be inseparable to his young Hunger Games' hero Josh Hutcherson-, not so much, mainly their friends. Like Ashley Tisdale to Vanessa Hudgens.

What I frankly cannot understand is why is Michael Caine who actually IS a good actor in that movie? That movie which's first episod was a big failure too. Well anyway let's hope tha theese names are enough to lure some people to the cinema.
I will see it (well maybe the dvd edition), because I love adventure movies.

Hope to see you soon.
